Income Distribution 1996:
Per Each 50% of NZ Population
The gross income for 50% of the NZ population is NZ’s minimum wage or lower (see bottom UIT economic web page for itemisation). NZ law requires that spouses must be in the workforce in order to be entitled for income support. NZ’s minimum wage, therefore, violates international human rights laws I.E. The law requires that one person’s income be sufficient to raise a household (see ICESCR art 7).
NZ’s income distribution policies do not comply with international human rights laws.
